
James Patterson
Co-Founder
A native of South Carolina, James is doubled degreed from Clemson University, with his BS in Agricultural Economics followed by his MA in Agricultural and Applied Economics. He also holds his Series 3 Futures Brokerage License.
Deep rooted in family, community and faith, he is married to his college sweetheart, and has two daughters. He is active in Trinity United Methodist Church, serves on the Board of the Bank of York, and an executive Board member of the Not For Profit York Economic development Corporation.
After years of building a successful marketing program for a small South Carolina commodities company, with emphasis on futures hedging, basis/cash sales and logistics, James co-founded APEX in 2001.
The vision was to create a commodities marketing and merchandising company with the core values of Agility and Integrity.
What started as a one office regional cottonseed trading company, APEX has grown into an international multi dimensional Commodities organization.
